My TOP 3 Spring/Summer 2012/13 Trends!

Hey guys, long time since I've posted, but I'M BACK! =D
Too get back into the swing of things I thought I'd do a quick post for my Australian readers going into summer... keep reading if you want to see what my top 3 summer trends I'm keen to try out!

#1 Neon Brights
This one is a no-brainer, we've pretty much all seen the neon trend hit the stores for the past few weeks now... From lemon yellows to punching pinks, this neon trend is HUGE and is not going anywhere anytime soon!
Solstice Dress - Thurley

Spin me Round Dress - Thurley

#2 Graphic/Garden Prints
This trend is quite a statement in itself, so if you are keen to work this one out then make sure you keep the rest of your outfit pretty neutral.
TVC Bird Shirt - Dotti
Oversize Floral Shirt - Topshop
Oasis Palm Print Dress - Asos

#3 Pastel Bliss
Lighter colours usually come with the territory of Spring/Summer, however I can't stop crushing on the gorgeous blissfull pastel shades out in the stores at the moment! Here are some of my faves...

Tali Peplum Top - Sportsgirl

Jazzie Jegging - Forever New

Madeline Embellished Dress - Forever New

NEON LOVE + Neon Trends on the Runway!

I really miss blogging on this page! School has been so overwhelming lately, I've just finished a very stressfull 2 weeks of mid-year exams and all the stress of studying for them! I have another 2 weeks to go and then I'm off to THAILAND! If any of you lovely people have been before and have some reccommendations of what to buy well I'm there please let me know in the comments! I'm excited to pick up some great goodies while I am there!!

I've been LOVING everything NEON lately, even though it's winter here in Australia I must admit neon and brights are my favourite thing to wear right now!! It's so weird, in the summer I miss winter and in the winter I am DYING for it to be summer! I wish I lived in Queensland at least where the sun is shining pretty much all year round!

NEON has been so HUGE on the runways recently. SASS & BIDE would have to be my all time favourite designer and esspecially when it comes to neon trends, they hit the nail right on the head! Here are some of my favourite looks from Sass & Bide!

I recently put up a video on youtube of some outfits i've been wearing incorporating NEON!

NEON Fix + Black Wedge Booties! (opens in a new window ;) )

Another one of my favourite trends recently have been PEPLUM dresses/tops EVERYTHING!.

And NEON + PEPLUM= LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

DIY Studded collar!

I've been obsessed with collared shirts lately, and even moreso, the really cool studded ones in the shops! But since the only ones ive seen costed $35.00 upwards I decided to make my own! I already owned this black hi-low sheer sleeveless collared shirt so I worked with what I had, and just made a 2 or 3 dollar purchase on some studs from ebay! I got mine HERE from an awesome seller. I'll probably soon make another purchase but next time buy alot more, since 50 is not really that much! Overall I'm really happy with the outcome and definetly looking forward to studding some more things... I'm thinking my blazer, and some other old plain sheer shirts! What do you think?

How to style Blue Jeans (or any colour) !

Hey guys! I know it's been a long time since I have posted a video or blogpost, but without sugar-coating anything I have simply just been really busy with school! I will try to start doing some videos back to back so I have more content but I am pretty content with pumping out at least one video every 2 weeks; it's what I feel comfortable with I guess!
Anyway, I've had these blue pair of jeans in my wardrobe for about 2 months now and I LOVE THEM! They are great for summer and winter I think because for summer they are a great pop of colour when its a bit chilly outside, but they are also great for winter because they keep you warm and add a little bit of colour to your outfit without being too crazy!

Some tips I have for styling blue jeans (or any colour) that I cover in the short video:
-Pair with NEUTRAL toned pieces, as this will let the jeans be the STATEMENT of your outfit.
-Pairing with another colour is OKAY! Don't be afraid to go with a complementary colour top if your up for it, or if you are not just pair the blue jeans with a pink accessory like I did!

Hope you lovelies enjoy!

OOTD- Sequin Skirt! Casual or Dressy!? You choose!

I thought I would put together an outfit that was slightly more glitzy for the daytime, but can certainly be pulled off! This gold sequin skirt from Valleygirl was an absolute STEAL, on sale for $30.00, but it totally looks $100.00 ! I have seen sequins EVERYWHERE especially over the holiday period. After noticing that most expensive branded sequins dresses and skirts are pretty much 100% identical to the fabric and sequins used in my skirt, I just fell in love with it more! I also like how the sequins is not tacky looking, but they are tiny and matte enough to be worn on a daily basis! I definitely think if you are looking to purchase one stand out piece for your wardrobe-- a sequin skirt is the way to go! Stunning, but also much more versatile than you may initially think!

Oh I wore pretty much this exact outfit for a casual NYE by the beach this year, LOVED IT!

Sequin Skirt: Valleygirl
Loose white singlet: Ally
Sheer loose button up: Cotton on
Choker: Equip
Bangles: Diva
Ring: Lovisa

Thanks for reading my lovelies! Leave me a comment about what you think, and link me to your blogs! I'm always looking for new ones to follow!

OOTD- Striped tshirt with Black lace midi/maxi skirt

Today I just went shopping with my mum and my sister and this is what I wore! It was a 30 degree day, super hot where I live so I opted for something more breezy and comfortable as opposed to shorts!
Shirt: Dotti in sale $10
Necklace: Chapel street $12
Watch: Swanston street $20
Bracelet: Friend
Ring: Equip $5
Bag: Rubi accessories $10
Maxi/Midi skirt: Sportsgirl $30
Wedges: Harbourtown $30
Essence nailpolish in 71 Trendsetter (Target, priceline) $2.55 with OPI Teenage Dream (mini) over the top!

Bargain from Typo! $10 for 3 notebooks and a $2 charity bag! I love the notebooks, very fashionista!
This is a watercolour (pencil) sketch I did for my Studio Art class!
This is a top I am working on just for fun! The fabric is torture though, its sequins and glitter gets EVERYWHERE!

My question is to you guys what do you think of these maxi style skirts? They are quite a controversial trend! Thanks for reading lovelies! See you in my next post! :)  Oh and don't forget to check out my youtube youtube.com/ livefashionmakeup

How to get LONG, THICK, VOLUMINOUS eyelashes with Maybelline Falsies mascara

You will simply need: an eyelash curler, and your favourite blackest, thickening mascara

 Eyelashes before curling...
Eyelashes after curling, and a very thin coat of the falsies mascara.
Waited a minute for the mascara to dry, then curled them again, and added more mascara. Lightly skimmed the wand on my lower lashline. Vuola!

Thanks for reading my lovelies, wasn't that easy :D ?

What's in my makeup baggy (fave products) + introduction to blog!

Welcome to my blog everyone, I thought I would make my first post something that was pretty universal and typical in the makeup/fashion blogging world, which is a What's in my makeup bag type post! Before I get into it, I just thought I'd mention a little disclaimer that I really don't carry all this makeup around, I barely even touch up my makeup throughout the day; so I guess you could call these my essential makeup products, but this makeup bag I got from a friend is just SO cute and I had to include it! Okay, enough rambling, onto the products...

#1 Covergirl Natureluxe Liquid Silk Foundation  (18.95 AUD)
My number one would have to be this Covergirl foundation that has been pretty overexposed in 2011, but I really do love it! It doesn't have the fullest coverage I desire most of the time but a little bit extra of it can go a long way. It goes on SOO smoothly and its SOO lightweight you really can not help but to love it, esspecially in this hot Australian summer we are experiencing at the moment, it reached 43 degrees yesterday! (107 F)

#2 MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden (39 AUD)
This would have to be one of the better quality bronzers I've tried out, and I really do love it. It gives my face a natural glowing complexion (not too orange) that throws off all the other cheap drugstore brands I have so far tried. One pet peeve of mine about it though is the pigmentation, not very impressive at first swipe, but if you give it another swirl its just perfect. I would say this because I was matched to the lightest shade as I am pretty pale. The major downside is the price though, I am really not a MAC person, I'd like to be, but too expensive for my budget. I would love to give a go some new drugstore bronzers and give them a chance before I rush out and repurchase this bronzer next time.

#3 Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express in Black Drama (i got mine on sale at Priceline for 10 AUD)
Not much to say about this mascara other than it works really great and can hold a decent curl for the price (only after using an eyelash curler though). The Falsies really thicken my lashes and give them the blackest black pigment I have ever seen, I have always gotten complements when wearing this mascara, and soon I will do a blog post on how I get my lashes LONG, THICK AND CURLED, off course it's only to what potential my natural lashes can hold but its how you can make the best out of your own eyelashes without wearing annoying false eyelashes! And you can actually say to people, yes, they are my eyelashes!

#4 Physicians Formula Shimmer strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liner for Brown eyes (i got mine on sale priceline 'buy one get one free', about 20 AUD rrp)
The trio of these gel liners make them useable for every occasion you may have. Also they are all very versatile on EVERY eye colour no matter what the jars say :D
This trio are the only gel eyeliners I have ever used but by far the best product I have found for applying liner to my upper lash line. I use a sigma E65 angled eyeliner brush to apply and vuola, perfect eyeliner everytime (..well..almost everytime). After all, practice makes perfect!

#5 OPI Dynamic Duo lipgloss (was a gift, probably 25 AUD or so with the nailpolish)
One of the recent additions to my makeup collection has been this heavenly sent lipgloss I got for Christmas from my sister. The gloss came with an OPI polish as a duo and its gorgeous. Not very sticky, (although sticky enough for it to actually stay put on your lips!) gorgeous brown colour  and also very snazzy with 2 different applicators, one a brush, and the other a soft spongy tip! What is not to love?!

#6 MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Fuchsia Fix (33 AUD)
Another one of my favourite lip products. The perfect colour, smell and texture that just glides onto your lips so effortlessly. One pet peeve of it although is the application method, I am not so fond of applying it with my fingers time after time, but I always make sure I have clean hands, which can be a hassle sometimes when I'm in a rush!

#7 BYS Glitter Eye Creme in Silver Spectrum 06 (few dollars from Gloss)
For such a cheap brand that is too cheap to even be found in Australian drugstores, BYS has some decent products! This eye glitter reached far above any expectations I had of it, no need for glitter glue or anything of the sort, I just apply with a sigma F70 synthetic (i think) concealer brush onto my lid, or just in my inner corners everyday for a pretty look! Stays on allllll day, literally!

Thanks for reading lovelies!
